Swimmy — AI swim training

Technical Overview

Swimmy brings swim training planning and tracking together. Swimmers can log sessions, import watch activities, and review personal times and meet results in one history. It generates AI workouts based on swimming level, available time, energy, and session goals. For coaches, it adds swimmer and program management, pool timing, and tournament organization.

Problem Statement

Planning the next session means looking at previous training and changes in performance. That information is often scattered across notes, meet spreadsheets, and watch files. Swimmy’s challenge is to bring it into a workflow that serves both independent swimmers and coaches working with multiple athletes.

Architecture

Built with Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript, with separate areas for the public website and application. Convex centralizes training data and coach–swimmer relationships; WorkOS AuthKit handles authentication and Polar manages subscriptions. Workout generation integrates Google Gemini through the AI SDK. The public site is available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and the application is installable as a PWA.

Key Features

  • Session history and time tracking by event
  • AI workouts based on level, time, energy, training zone, and stroke
